Beautiful Destinations for Your Next Wellness Vacation

41

It’s important to find beauty in the world. From mountains to prairies, and deserts to beaches, there’s much to explore and discover. Traveling doesn’t only help elevate your spirit, it also helps elevate your mental health and well-being.

Here are a few suggestions to the most beautiful destinations for your next wellness vacation.

1. Venice, Italy

Venice is a city of beauty and romance. This city, built in a lagoon, is also ancient, which makes it even more incredible to explore. Venice is a series of more than 100 small islands, located in the Adriatic Sea. There are no roads, only canals, which means you get around by foot or by boat.

Whether you’re in the central square, Piazza San Marco, or one of the many surrounding islands, there’s much to see. View St. Mark’s Basilica, which is tiled with Byzantine mosaics. Take a trip to Burano and Murano to see handmade lace and hand blown glass.

2. The Maldives

If you’re a fan of islands, you’ve got to visit The Maldives. The Maldives is a nation of 1,192 islands located on the Indian Ocean. They span across the equator and only 200 are inhabited. Though the area that makes up The Maldives is vast, most of it is water and the square footage of inhabitable land is comparatively small.

The unique geography is mesmerising. Reefs offer beautiful colors and are surrounded by shallow clear waters. 5 percent of the Earth’s corals call the Maldives home. This means that The Maldives is also a great place to experience unique and spectacular marine life as they visit reefs.

3. The Caribbean

Since nothing beats the beauty of small land masses surrounded by large bodies of water, there’s one more important island destination to talk about. The islands that make up the Caribbean are beautiful and offer a special kind of laid back romance. No matter what island you visit, you’ll find white sand beaches, beautiful clear waters and friendly neighbours.

The islands of The Caribbean are a great destination if you’re a fan of cruising. A Caribbean cruise is an easy way to get from island to island. A cruise will allow you to see as much of the region as possible in one trip.

4. Highway 1, California

Getting away from the islands, there’s much beauty to see by road as well. This includes a trip down Highway 1 in California. Highway 1 offers amazing views of beaches, mountains and natural beauty. Part of the highway ambles through Big Sur, and is considered one of the most scenic driving routes around. The road is winding and narrow, and often cut into seaside cliffs.

You can take Highway 1 across the Golden Gate Bridge. From there, take it through Napa Valley and Sonoma, and take a tour of wine country. You even have a shot of seeing migrating whales and seals in MacKerricher State Park.

5. Estes Park, Colorado

Like Highway 1, Colorado is an incredible place, no matter where in the state you visit. Estes Park, home to Rocky Mountain National Park, is no exception. Rocky Mountain National Park spans the Continental Divide, and is a beauty of mountains, forests and alpine tundra.

There are many beautiful hikes, climbs and drives to take through the park. The trail surrounding Bear Lake offers views of the glorious mountain peaks. This includes a view of Long Peak, the park’s tallest mountain.

6. Sedona, Arizona

If you love mountains, Sedona is another beautiful place to visit. This desert town is surrounded by unique red rock canyons and pine forests. There are many great trails throughout the area, full of beauty like nowhere else.

Sedona is also a place which is known to have healing properties. Though all of Sedona is supposed to be good for the soul, special energy vortexes are thought to be important. These centers of energy are supposed to be conducive to healing and meditation. They are areas where the earth is more alive with energy.

The Bottomline

There’s simply so much beauty in the world. These are just a few places you should visit to explore the amazing, beautiful destinations the world has to offer. Traveling can be a soul cleanser and a great start to your journey of wellness.
