1166

What you eat is a major factor in your weight loss progress. After all, you can’t outrun a bad diet, nor can you maintain your weight eating more or less than what’s recommended for you. Not only that, but the things you eat will affect the way your body functions as well, from your mental health to your energy levels. That is why it’s important to have an effective diet plan to reach your goals and continue to maintain your desired weight.

But with the many types of diet plans available for you to try out, which one is the best for you? Read on as I show you the different diet plans explained!

  1. Keto Diet

With a keto diet, you will be consuming more protein and fat, such as animal products and high-fat dairy products. That way, the body will use fats instead of carbs as fuel, burning and reducing belly fat. It has been known that you can also lose twice more weight compared to other diet plans as you reach ketosis, a state that happens after following an extremely low-carb diet for a few weeks.

With this diet plan, you feel less hungry from the protein and reduce risks of heart diseases. You also have the capability of eating more great-tasting high-fat food, such as butter, cheese, and cream (but in moderation!). To know more about foods and recipes, better check out their favorite keto cookbooks at KSR. It has also been known to suppress appetite while improving your blood sugar levels and cholesterol.

Take note that lack of carbs will affect your mood and concentration. You may also lose muscle and reduce exercise tolerance because of the glycogen stores in muscles lessening. This diet plan is best for the short-term, as the high protein levels may damage your bones and kidneys while increasing the risk of certain cancers due to lack of fiber and nutrients.

  1. Paleo Diet

In a Paleo diet, you will be consuming foods that only our ancestors from the Stone Age ate. This means eating foods like cavemen, such as fruits, vegetables, lean meats, seafood, healthy fats, and nuts and seeds. You will be eliminating processed foods, dairy, grains, legumes, starches, and alcohol.

What’s beneficial about the Paleo diet is that you will be improving your blood lipids and reduce inflammation WHILE losing weight. This is because of the high-fiber and low-fat content, which has you feel fuller for longer. It is also known to help with diabetes and lessen cardiovascular diseases.

But with that being said, you are also deprived of nutrients your body gets from whole grains and dairy. Fortunately, there are supplements that can help you out in getting your recommended amount of vitamins and nutrients for the day.

  1. Vegan Diet

This is a very popular diet, created by vegetarians. The difference is that besides not eating meat, they also do not consume eggs, dairy, or other animal products. It excludes all forms of animal cruelty or exploitation for environmental and ethical reasons. So not only will you be eliminating animal products from your diet, but from your life as well.

It has been known that vegan diets can help you lose weight because of the usual vegan diet plan being lower in calories than other diets. You are knocking out meat and high-fat dairy products. There is also a reduced risk of certain illnesses, such as cardiovascular diseases and hypertension.

BUT, you will lack in a few nutrients, particularly fatty acids and B vitamins, which have you feel weak and constipated. But like the Paleo diet, you can get the missing nutrients from supplements (as long s it is animal cruelty-free).

  1. Low-Fat Diet

With a low-fat diet, you would be consuming less than 30% of fat from your calories. Some may even reduce that number to less than 10%, focusing on eating more fruits and vegetables rather than animal products, which are high in fat.

It has been shown that a low-fat diet can ultimately help with weight loss and maintain weight, as well as keep insulin levels low and prevent various heart diseases. They hold similar results as a low-carb diet.

BUT, you may be deficient in some vitamins and minerals, including B vitamins and zinc. The reduced fat may also lessen the affectivity of absorbing vitamins and producing cells and hormones.
