WHAT IS A WEIGHTED TWIST ?

Abs and obliques are worked upon by weighted twist exercise.

 

WHAT MUSCLES DOES WEIGHTED TWIST WORKOUT ?

Primary muscle: Abs & Obliques are effected by doing this exercise.
Secondary muscle: Biceps, Forearms, Middle & Lower Back / Lats are also effected by doing weighted twist.

 

WHAT EQUIPMENT DOES WEIGHTED TWIST REQUIRE ?

Weight plate is required to perform this exercise.

 

HOW TO DO WEIGHTED TWIST ?

Performing the 8 steps below, you will be able to do this exercise properly:

  1. Be settled on the exercising mat with your legs extended and upper body erect.
  2. Hold a weighted plate with both your hands with your arms bent slightly.
  3. Raise your ankles by crossing them with each other and bend your knees.
  4. Pull yourself back to almost 15 degrees in order to balance your body.
  5. Exhale and turn your torso in the left direction, and make the plate touch the ground.
  6. Inhale your breathe and return to your starting position where you were not moving the weight.
  7. While exhaling repeat the same towards your right side.
  8. Alternate the above steps towards your left and right.

 

IS THERE ANY PRECAUTION TO KEEP IN MIND WHILE PERFORMING WEIGHTED TWIST ?

Yes! You may cause yourself a serious lower back injury if you perform this exercise by swinging your arms with a jerk or using momentum.
